A vibrant, inclusive Scout group in the heart of Bedford, dedicated to developing the next generation of adventurers and community leaders.
Our Mission & Values
Salam Bedford Scouts is a Muslim-friendly Scout group that warmly welcomes young people of all faiths and backgrounds. We believe Scouting is for everyone, and we're proud to provide a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment for young people in Bedford.
Our programme is based on the official UK Scouts curriculum, complemented by our commitment to faith values, community service and cultural awareness. We run weekly meetings, termly camps, and countless adventures throughout the year.
We are an official UK Scout group registered with The Scout Association (UK) and follow all safeguarding, training and programme standards. We are independent and operate under UK Scouting regulations.

Meet Our Volunteers
Our dedicated team of volunteer leaders make Scouting happen every week. All leaders are DBS checked and Scout Association trained.
Abdul Rahman

Abdul has been involved in Scouting for over 15 years and founded Salam Bedford Scouts in 2015.

Beaver Leader
Fatima brings creativity and enthusiasm to our youngest members every week.

Scout Leader
Omar leads our Scouts section with a passion for outdoor adventure and leadership.

Explorer Leader
Aisha helps our eldest members plan expeditions and navigate real-world challenges.
Your Child's Safety Comes First
We take safeguarding extremely seriously and follow all Scout Association policies to ensure every young person is safe, protected and supported.
DBS Checks
All volunteers undergo enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks before working with young people. We maintain strict recruitment procedures.
Trained Leaders
Every leader completes mandatory safeguarding training and first aid certification. We follow a continuous development programme to keep skills current.
Safe Activities
All activities are risk-assessed following Scout Association guidelines. We maintain appropriate adult-to-child ratios and never leave young people unsupervised.

If you have any safeguarding concerns, contact our Group Scout Leader immediately or report directly to The Scout Association.
Official Registration: Salam Bedford Scouts is fully registered with The Scout Association and adheres to all national safeguarding policies, training standards and programme requirements. We are inspected regularly and maintain full insurance cover for all activities.
